REPORT MUSIC / MEETING WITH WILD BELLE

Last night, for the first time in Paris, Wild Belle performed at Nouveau Casino, they presented us their new album , Isles, released by Columbia Records.

Wild Belle has everything to attract us : a duo from Chicago which cultivates a hobo chic look, and graceful pop colored songs.

This  American indie band, Wild Belle  is composed of siblings Elliot (multi-instrumentalist) and her sister with a smooth voice, Natalie Bergman.

Showcase has begun with their  3 famous songs : Keep You » , « Backslider », and « It’s Too Late » in order to hypnotise us  with a dynamique pop with jamaican reverberation and tropical wave.

After 10 min, we are able to compare them to Etta James for the melody and Toro y Moi for the swing.

This first brilliant album will make us traveling between America and Jamaica, between soul and jazz. This is a great tribute to the  black music of sixties, and coolwave movement.
