RICK OWENS A/W 2020: A VISION BY FRANK PERRIN

By Crash redaction

Rick Owens presented his A/W 2020 show yesterday in Paris and, as always, it was Fashion Week’s most sombre and interesting collection to see. It started with super tight body conscious dresses with a slit on the leg, in shades of anthracite or black, paired with thigh-high biker boots with little zipped compartments – a genius move that lets you carry more than one purse without even noticing it! There were also amazing shoulder proportions – the key element of this collection – in blazers, extra-fitted leather jackets and even puffer jackets. They started out bold with a horn-shape then became outrageously dramatic in bigger cones. Aside from the usual muted palette, the breakthrough color of the season was definitely cerulean blue, seen on slip dresses tied on the side of the body, cropped biker jackets and a huge puffer cape that made the model look like a modern superwoman. With futuristic reflective sunglasses and surrealist accessories, the show gave off a bit of a cybergoth feel. Bold silhouettes that conveyed elements from the past and present for an unconventionally sexy attitude.
