RIMOWA UNVEILS LIMITED-EDITION COLLABORATION WITH PTOLEMY MANN

By Max Mendel

Rimowa launches its latest Essential range this winter, featuring seasonal hues Ginger and Nautical, inspired by Copenhagen’s architecture and Nordic maritime heritage. Adding to its innovative offerings, Rimowa also introduces the “Mahjong Attaché”, the latest in its line of luxury game cases. Crafted from the brand’s signature grooved aluminum, this case elevates traditional Mahjong with modern craftsmanship and design.

The collaboration with British artist Ptolemy Mann sees her signature “Threshold” artwork brought to life on 1,000 limited-edition Essential Cabin Nautical cases. Mann’s layered brushstrokes are meticulously translated onto the polycarbonate shell, creating a textured, three-dimensional effect that mirrors her textile artistry. Meanwhile, the “Mahjong Attaché” features 144 hand-decorated acrylic tiles, aluminum dice, and a removable upper tray, blending functionality with contemporary aesthetics.

Inside the « Cabin Threshold » suitcase, Mann’s artistic vision extends to the Rimowa flex divider, adorned with a blue-tinted brushstroke. Similarly, the “Mahjong Attaché” combines tradition with modernity, featuring contemporary symbols and personalized touches, such as a red leather tag customizable with initials. Both pieces embody Rimowa’s dedication to merging artistic infuion with design excellence.

Backed by Rimowa’s unconditional lifetime guarantee, these creations underscore craftsmanship and innovation. Whether through Mann’s striking reinterpretation of abstract expressionism or the “Mahjong Attaché’”s dual-level system, Rimowa continues to expand the boundaries of functional art.

The Essential « Cabin Threshold » and the “Mahjong Attaché” will be available at Rimowa stores and online, offering new ways to combine travel and play with timeless style.
