ROLEX ART INITIATIVE NAMES SEVEN MAJOR ARTISTS AS MENTORS

On the 21st of October, the names of the seven new Rolex mentors have been announced during a special event in Venice.

Olafur Eliasson (visual arts), Alejandro González Iñárritu (film), Michael Ondaatje (litterature), Alexei Ratmansky (dance), Kaija Saariaho (music), Jennifer Tipton (theatre), and Peter Zumthor (architecture) will each spend a year to mentor seven young artists in 2014 and 2015, with logistical and financial support from Rolex.

The Rolex Arts Initiative already started a global search to identify the new « protégés ».
