The film delves into the tumultuous journey of Rita, a fiercely competent lawyer trapped in a morally ambiguous corporate environment. In « The Shrouds, » David Cronenberg masterfully explores the intersection of grief, technology, and human connection. Starring Vincent Cassel, Diane Kruger, Guy Pearce, and Sandrine Holt, the film centers on Karsh, a grieving widower who embarks on a quest fueled by loss and obsession. Inventor of the controversial GraveTech, Karsh strives to unravel the mystery behind the desecration of graves, including that of his beloved wife. « Parthenope, » helmed by director Paolo Sorrentino, offers a sweeping chronicle of one woman’s odyssey through the tapestry of Neapolitan life. With a starred cast including Gary Oldman, Isabella Ferrari, and Silvio Orlando, the film navigates the rich complexities of Parthenope’s existence against the backdrop of post-war Naples.
