SAINT LAURENT RIVE DROITE EAMES OFFICE THE PLYWOOD SCULPTURE EXHIBITION

By Iris Jeanson

Saint Laurent Rive Droite, in collaboration with the Eames Office, presents an exclusive exhibition in Los Angeles, featuring seven limited-edition Plywood Sculptures by design pioneers Charles and Ray Eames. Originally crafted in 1943, these three-feet tall organic masterpieces are making their public debut in the city where they were first conceived.

The Plywood Sculptures stand as a blend of contemporary art and design, showcasing the Eameses’ innovative spirit and marking a significant milestone in 20th-century design. Two of the sculptures, produced from a single production tool, are part of the Eames Institute of Infinite Curiosity, with a re-edition released in 2021.

Happening concurrently with Palm Springs Modernism Week, the exhibition at Saint Laurent Rive Droite will feature these historic sculptures along with related artwork by Charles and Ray Eames. The collection includes drawings, photographs, and the film Blacktop, providing a comprehensive look into the Eames legacy.

For enthusiasts and collectors, a printed exhibition catalog will be available, and the featured sculptures will be available for sale upon request. This collaboration bridges the past and present, allowing audiences to immerse themselves in the timeless allure of Eames design.
