SAINT LAURENT RIVE DROITE EXHIBITION VANESSA BEECROFT

By Crash redaction

Vanessa Beecroft, Italian artist  and performer born in 1969  and now living in Los Angeles, has always devoted her work to the representation of the female body and to  a delicate socio-political discussion of art. Her representation of reality is what has also led her to collaborate with various brands in the fashion world. In 2009 she began her extensive collaboration with musician and producer Kanye West.  What identifies Beecroft’s works is not only a deep affiliation with popular culture but also a visceral dialogue with the art history and traditions of Europe and many cultures of the world.

Photography is also present in her artistic experimentation; and it is the latter that is the protagonist of the latest collaboration with Saint Laurent. Present within the photographic shots are all the elements that characterize the artist’s works: the tension between nudity and clothing, the contrast between freedom and restriction, the relationship between the individual and the collective, and finally the opposition between human strength and weakness.
This collaboration is not the first between Anthony Vaccarello and Beecroft, indeed they had already worked together at SELF02 during ArtBasel in Miami 2018. On the occasion of this latest collusion a selection of 14 polaroids will be shown and will be available for sale in the Rive Droite Boutiques in Paris and Los Angeles.

SAINT LAURENT RIVE DROITE is a creative and cultural destination curated by Anthony Vaccarello, located at 213, rue Saint-Honoré 75001 Paris, and extended at 469 Rodeo Drive, Los Angeles.

SAINT LAURENT RIVE DROITE represents an amusing and chic version of today’s Saint Laurent universe.
