SAINT LAURENT WOMEN’S WINTER 2023

By Crash redaction

Anthony Vaccarello shows the classic and strong style of the Saint Laurent woman by combining it in a precise and exciting way, reflecting the current moment with familiar aesthetics: the skirt suit.

What is seen on the runway is the sharp figure of wide blazers that are softened with a flowing layer of cloth, a gentle scarf that comes out in a bow or is stretched down the back as if it were a stole. The iconic blazer is not the only thing covering the models’ shoulders during the show, but also leather bombers and sharply cut tank-tops. Black, gray, dark blue but also shades of cream and white and finally tartans and glen plaids are shown on the runway. Motifs typically associated with the male gender take shape and are rediscovered on feminine silhouettes.

The venue is inspired by the ballroom of the Intercontinental Hotel, where the brand presented all its Haute Couture collections between 1975 and 2001. Vaccarello took that fluid and luxurious period as an example, radically reinventing it in a contemporary minimalist setting.
