SCHIAPARELLI HAUTE COUTURE FW16: ON THE RUNWAY
Once again this season, Schiaparelli showed complete devotion to its heritage. Reinterpreting the codes of Surrealism in a nostalgic yet contemporary way, Bertrand Guyon shows a sophisticated vision that embodies the core of the House. Indeed, surrealist-inspired details can be found as a common thread: embroidered golden silhouettes popped out of a black tailored jacket, golden mouth-shaped brooches adorned jacket’s pockets and dresses, while embroidered visionary figures such as unicorns, acrobats and peacocks decorated long evening dresses, tailleurs and sheath corsets. Asymmetrical dresses were key of the collection, sometimes one sleeve, some others without a classic décolleté but unveiling a bit of bare skin with geometrical cut-outs. The collection was an ode to imagery inspired from circus and dreams, a way to make us escape in a visionary world.
