SHARK TAILORING AT CALVIN KLEIN 205W39NYC S/S 2019

By Crash

On Tuesday, Raf Simons presented the Calvin Klein 205W39NYC spring/summer 2019 collection at the house’s global headquarters in the heart of New York City. Two classic movies were at the heart of the imagery: the terrifying thriller from the 70s Jaws which brought shark attacks to another level and The Graduate which gave the show a preppy twist. Some models even wore graduation caps. Nodding, once again, to American pop-culture with subtle references, Simons delivers a strong street-savvy collection. Uniform blazers, college denim and printed shirts were mixed with smarter clothing for an eclectic look.

New pieces from the Andy Warhol collaboration (mixed with some Stephen Sprouse) were also revealed in the form of fabric and fringe panels. The front-row was full of A-list guests like Saoirse Ronan (face of the house’s new fragrance), Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum entirely dressed in Calvin Klein 205W39NYC. Quite a sight!
