SHIATZY CHEN FW24 : « SCENE OF INK »

By Iris Jeanson

Shiatzy Chen’s latest Autumn-Winter collection, « Scene of Ink, » was unveiled on March 4 at the Palais de Tokyo. Design Director Shiatzy Chen masterfully translated the essence of Oriental art onto the runway, with ink gradations creating a visual spectacle.

The collection’s narrative unfolded around the four treasures of the study, showcasing clean-cut silhouettes inspired by ink slabs. Fundamental to the season, the 1960s Western-style suits seamlessly merged Western fabric with Oriental technique, embodying Shiatzy Chen’s 46-year legacy.

The runway itself became a canvas of elegance, as ink-colored garments featuring gold yarn, Oriental-style embroidery, and Ming Dynasty-inspired hues captured attention. Accessories, including virgule heels and jade-infused handbags, added a layer of sophistication.

Shiatzy Chen’s FW24/25 collection is an avant-garde celebration of elegance, symbolizing ink’s cultural significance and ushering in a season of distinctive style.
