SPOTLIGHT ON: NEU_IN

Born in Seoul, Korea, rising star, Seyong Kim launched his own label, NEU_IN in 2018, after graduating from fashion schools in Tokyo and Paris, and a stint at prestigious, well established labels such as Acne Studios and Lacoste.

Taking the knowledge and skills he acquired in Paris, Kim returned to his hometown of Seoul, with a fire in his belly, ready to weave his own message into the world, launching NEU_IN at the Paris Fall Winter shows in 2019.

He received rave reviews from critics, and has garnered somewhat of a cult following on Instagram with features already in Vogue China, Tetu Mag and Cosmopolitan the young designer has gained a strong global editorial presence. South Korean, singer-song writer Colde and French superstar singer Dadju are among the A-listers to have sported his designs at various red carpet events.

Taking its’ name from German… ‘NEU’ meaning ‘New’ and ‘IN’ meaning ‘Person’, the idea behind the brand is that it is centered on the experiences of one particular imaginary person. The collections are a journey through this person’s ever-evolving emotional state, toying with and manipulating the inevitable tribulations and challenges the person is to face.

It’s a strong conceptual project that translates into surprisingly wearable, exquisitely made, tailored pieces. With abstract and thought provoking films and visually striking imagery that he releases alongside his collections, Kim shows an innate flare, not only for fashion design, but also as a gifted visual artist.
