SWEET PARTNERSHIP: MAYUMI OTERO X COTÉLAC

By Crash redaction

This spring, Cotélac takes us on a journey in Japan and Spain. The brand chooses to collaborate with the French drawer Mayumi Otero, and creates an exclusive capsule collection. Large panel of different cultures inspires the young illustrator, meant to be an artist since her youngest age. She develops with her companion a graphic universe based on printed image and silkscreen printing. This printing skill is built on three to four shades, which creates sometimes an unexpected result. The whole work is very coloured and suggests a magical childhood world. When it comes to Cotélac, Mayumi Otero has designed six pieces (three dresses, three T-shirts) that embody trip and evasion. The collection is fashioned according three major patterns, inspired by the “Toile de Jouy”. Naturalist Ernst Haeckel and old engravings have inspired the work of Mayumi Otero for this collaboration with Cotélac. These drawings reflect the memories of her excursions through all over the world. Eruditely thought, the collection mixes Tokyo landscapes with exotica places. Enjoy now a walk around a fascinating exhibition, midway between fashion and art. Loose and silky, the creations of Mayumi Otero constitute a romantic wardrobe.

Only 1800 clothes are produced for this exclusive partnership, available since April in all Cotélac stores in France and abroad. You can discover original pieces at the Cotélac store, Rue Malher in Paris.
