THE COACH VINTAGE ONLINE AUCTION: A TRIBUTE TO SEVENTY-FIVE YEARS OF CREATION
Coach celebrates seventy-five years of craftsmanship with an online auction of forty-eight vintage bags. The Coach vintage online auction includes three categories: one group about celebrity friends of the fashion House, another for vintage bags customized with modern patterns, and one-of-a-kind items. Among these items, some Coach’s iconic pieces have been chosen in the archives, and redecorated by hand. A selection of eleven pieces, which all belonged to close friends of artistic director Stuart Vevers, are featured in the sale, and each bag shows the psyche and the universe of the friend/muse. Pieces owned by singer and actress Debbie Harry, producer Lena Dunham or young actress Chloe Grace Moretz, for example. $50,000 from the sales will benefit The Costume Institute at The Metropolitan Museum of Art to ensure the preservation of fashion history and advance fashion as an art form.
