THE SHINING AT LA LOUISIANE

By Crash

We are happy to unveil a very special exhibition curated by our long-time collaborator Anaid Demir at the hotel La Louisiane, in the 6th arrondissement of Paris. Centered around the psycho-horror movie Shining by Stanley Kubrick, the exhibition will take the captivating story from the snowy mountains of Colorado to Saint-Germain-des-Prés. The Hotel Overlook and La Louisiane share many similarities, from the psychedelic decor to the haunted corridors which hide many stories. It is thus quite fitting to invite eleven artists to share their own vision of the movie and its striking imagery. Together they will create a brand new scenario that is sure to spook you out!

For the occasion, the hotel’s iconic carpets will be decorated with the 70s geometric motifs of the Hotel Overlook and a throbbing and mesmerizing soundtrack has been made specially for the occasion. It is sure to keep your heart pumping and your breath panting. Photography, video, painting, sculpture and installations will all be visible from November 5th trough November 16th. With works by Adel Abdessemed, Virginie Barré, Jean-Luc Blanc, Olaf Breuning, Etienne Daho, Brice Dellsperger, Bertrand Mandico, Gianni Motti and Frank Perrin. You’ll also be able to see a live performance by Xavier Boussiron and Pacôme Thiellement.

Adel Abdessemed, Forbidden Colours
