THE WINNERS OF THE ANDAM FASHION AWARD HAVE BEEN REVEALED

For their 2014 edition, the jury of the ANDAM Fashion award have selected the following designers for their forward-thinking work:

IRIS VAN HERPEN, winner of the Grand Price of the Jury

and

COPERNI FEMME, winner of the First Collections Price.

The Jury, who gathered on July 3rd to decide on the winners of this year’s award, consisted of the likes of Francesca Belletinni (representing the Maison Yves Saint Laurent), Pierre Bergé (representing the Pierre Bergé Yves Saint Laurent Fundation), Sophie Delafontaine (Longchamp), John Demsey (Estee Lauder, M.A.C Cosmetics), François Henri-Pinault (Kering group), Pierre-Yves Roussel (LVMH) and other professionals of the fashion industry such as Creative Director of Colette Sarah Andelman, Editor-In-Chief of Vogue China Angelica Cheung, Founder and executive officer of the ANDAM Nathalie Dufour, Model Caroline de Maigret, Executive Editor for Style.com, Nicole Phelps, CEO of Conde Nast France, Xavier Romatet and photographer Ellen von Unwerth.

Dutch designer Iris van Herpen was the winner of this year’s prestigious ANDAM Fashion Award and accepted the award as a sign of the best encouragement have received for her future. Van Herpen began her career working for Alexander McQueen in London before showing her first collection in Amsterdam in 2007. Her technological approach to fashion allowed her to join the official calendar of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture in 2011. She then launched her first ready-to-wear womenswear collection during Paris Fashion Week in March 2013.

French duo Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant see this award as being only the beginning of a great adventure, while offering the winners something concrete that will help them to develop their brand. The two met in Mod’Art International school in Paris. Assembling their skills in design and fashion management, the two managed to win many prizes during their studies and gathered professional experiences around the globe. They presented their first collection in September 2013.

Since its creation in 1989 by Nathalie Dufour, the ANDAM initiative aims at supporting emerging talents in contemporary fashion and to affirm Paris as a major fashion capital, as likes to remind the Association’s President, Mr. Pierre Bergé.
