TIMBERLAND RELEASES NEW “ICONIC” CAMPAIGN

By Temoso Mohuba

In celebration of the last year Timberland has had while celebrating its 50th Anniversary, the brand unveils a new global campaign ‘ICONIC’ featuring four worldwide known and celebrated creatives. That includes supermodel and public figure, Naomi Campbell, singer-songwriter, Teddy Swims, artist, Slawn and model, Kai-Isaiah Jamal. These four figures were selected as a reflection and representation of what it means to be iconic.

The campaign which was shot by Jamie Morgan, highlights the timeless and iconic Timberland “Original Yellow Boot”, modelled by each of the four figures. Each image is shot in a minimal setting with the figures sporting nothing but the Timberland boot, bringing the focus on the shoe. The campaign aims to “redefine vision, attitude and style with unparalleled originality.”

Following the revival of the iconic Timberland boot, the release of the campaign also celebrates the various prestigious collaborations between Louis Vuitton, Wales Bonner and White Mountaineering – respectively. These collaborations aided in the re-positioning of the Timberland brand in the market and to the public and were well received by a new generation of consumers – primarily Gen Z.

Timberland’s marketing director stated, “The ICONIC campaign is an extension of that energy, symbolizing a new direction for the brand and reinforcing our status as the arbiter of boot culture. This campaign is incredibly bold and authentic, and Timberland has always championed originality; and what could be more iconic than the famous ‘Original Yellow Boot’?”
