In the latest chapter of its ongoing homage to Italian craftsmanship and lifestyle, Tod’s unveils « The Art of Craftsmanship – A Project by Venetian Masters. » At the heart of this project lies the iconic Gommino, symbolizing the brand’s commitment to timeless elegance and artisanal excellence.

For Tod’s, craftsmanship and traditional techniques are not just values but a way of life. The brand has long been synonymous with celebrating and elevating the exceptional skills of Italian artisans, this project serves as a testament to that dedication.

Eleven Venetian Masters have been entrusted with interpreting the essence of the Gommino, showcasing their unparalleled craftsmanship. Through their artistry, tools, and mastery, they breathe new life into this iconic symbol, infusing it with their unique perspectives and techniques.

The collaboration between Tod’s and the City of Venice underscores the brand’s mission to champion expertise, know-how, and beauty qualities that resonate globally and define the essence of Italian craftsmanship.

This celebration of craftsmanship will take center stage at an exhibition coinciding with the opening days of the 60th International Art Exhibition of Venice. The presence of both Venetian Masters and Tod’s Artisans underscores the mutual respect and admiration shared between the brand and these skilled artisans.

Among the esteemed Venetian Masters contributing to the project are glassblower Roberto Beltrami, goldbeater Marino Menegazzo, rowlock makers Saverio Pastor and Piero Dri, as well as glass masters Matteo Seguso and Lucio Bubacco. Each artist draws inspiration from the Gommino and Tod’s distinctive codes to create original works that seamlessly blend contemporary style with the timeless allure of ancient craftsmanship.

In addition to its involvement in the Venice Biennale Arte, where Tod’s serves as a partner for the Italian Pavilion, the brand also collaborated on the installation « Due qui / To Hear » alongside curator Luca Cerizza and artist Massimo Bartolini. This engagement underscores Tod’s dedication to fostering creativity and innovation within the arts.

This initiative builds upon Tod’s enduring commitment to supporting Italian craftsmanship, art, and culture. From contributing to the restoration of iconic landmarks like the Colosseum in Rome and Palazzo Marino in Milan to partnering with esteemed institutions such as the Teatro alla Scala, Tod’s continues to be a steadfast patron of Italy’s rich cultural heritage.
