VAN CLEEF & ARPELS PRESENTS NEW HAUTE JOAILLERIE COLLECTION

By Crash redaction

L’ARCHE DE NOÉ RACONTÉE PAR VAN CLEEF & ARPELS INTRODUCES THE FRENCH HOUSE’S LATEST HAUTE JOAILLERIE COLLECTION. ON THIS OCCASION, CRASH REINTERPRETS ITS NARRATIVE, AN ODE TO THE ANIMAL KINGDOM.

Noah’s Arch, as Van Cleef & Arpels imagines it, welcomes on board sixty couples of chosen animals guided by three marvelous creatures of mysterious beauty. The myth celebrates the animal theme the House has long held dear and unveils a bestiary underlining its core values of love and sharing through a captivating pas de deux set against a harmonious palette of precious gemstones of vivid intensity. Delving into its heritage, the House has transformed fauna into clips inspired by the aesthetic qualities of the living world. In the masterful hands of the jeweler, all types of animals from every habitat come to life in an array of carefully selected materials, cut and polished until they shine with the sparkle of vitality.

Crash reinterprets the story in issue number 77, coming out in September 2016.

The French maison exposes its Haute Joaillerie collection with the exhibition L’Arche de Noé Racontée par Van Cleef & Arpels, an immersive experience designed by visual artist Robert Wilson

With a scenography that plays on the contrast between light and shadows, Robert Wilson invites audiences to take part in an exceptional sensory experience that pays homage to the enchanting imagination of Van Cleef & Arpels. Distinguished for his offerings that combine dance, music, light, and emotion with unmatched precision and unconventional originality, he produced an exhibition that invites audiences to embark on a dream-filled voyage. The American artist opted for a scenography conceived as a fully immersive experience that allows visitors to join in the ark’s journey. With an affinity for the imaginative world of childhood, he created a large black box to represent the hull of a ship in which a video projection evokes the movement of the sea, as enchanting music by Arvo Pärt, Spiegel im Spiegel, rings out to complete the experience.

The exhibition L’Arche de Noé Racontée par Van Cleef & Arpels runs at Hôtel d’Évreux, Place Vendôme, Paris, from September 3rd to 26th. The entrance is free.
