VIKTOR & ROLF HAUTE COUTURE SPRING-SUMMER 24 COLLECTION
By Aicha NDIAYE
For this show, accompanied by a mechanical music echoing the sound of sewing scissors in action, the designers dedicated this collection to the theme of destruction and reconstruction of garments, predominantly black color palette .
This experimentation repeated itself throughout the runway, on an evening gown with a voluminous skirt, reduced to nothing but the tulle petticoat, on a strapless dress with half of it seeming to be torn away, a long coat looking destroyed and even on a long black sleek and degraded pantsuit.
In their exploration of the interplay between destruction and reconstruction, Viktor & Rolf Haute Couture 2024 runway showcased a captivating fusion of bold design and meticulous craftsmanship. Each piece bore witness to a creative process that embraced the beauty found in both decay and renewal.
