WANDA NYLON FALL WINTER 2016 PARIS

The Wanda Nylon Fall Winter 2016 collection was one of a kind. Hosted in a dark ambience juxtaposed only by the bright light of the runway creating a path in the middle of nowhere, the collection was a mix of inspirations from the 70s and 80s. Black, red and white were the mains colors, mixed and matched in different textures and materials. The length was an important issue in the collection, all pieces being under the knees for clothing and over the knees for shoes. Indeed, thigh boots were key for this season, made in red or black patent leather and going along with every outfit. On a clothing note, long white tunics and dresses were paired with zipped sweaters underneath while black satin playsuit and long silk jacket with a bathrobe spirit with leather gloves and black squared sunglasses. From time to time, the monochrome of the pieces was interrupted by a purple playsuit in lurex or a long emerald lurex dress without sleeves. The raincoat, signature of the House, was revisited in different ways: always with contours of juxtaposed colors such as red or black on blue and white, it was this time extended to other models such as short adjusted jackets and wide dungarees with pockets. Playing with transparency and wide tears showing bare skin, the collection was given a grunge touch by hoodies paired with furs, sweaters with long silk skirts and baseball caps with long dresses with bare shoulders. Definitely a strong contestant for the LVMH Prize!
