YIQING YIN HAUTE COUTURE SS16: A RUNWAY STORY
Paris, Yiqing Yin Haute Couture SS16. Yiqing Yin’s influence in the small circle of Haute Couture is skyrocketing. Over the past years, the French-Chinese designer has been showing her Haute Couture collections as a guest member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture Parisienne. A few months ago, she received the ultimate confirmation by her peers when she became an official member. Yiqing Yin is known for her intricate work on pleats and her wise eye for exquisite fabrics. The designer is a master when it comes to creating shapes that always involve movement and fluidity. This season, her woman seems very much like a contemporary warrior. Leather armors are intertwined in muslin and silk dresses, and the sharp asymmetrical lines create a dialogue with the extreme softness of the dresses. The show ends with a true art piece: a black one-shoulder dress sculpted with LED lights on thin cords, created in collaboration with sculptor Bastien Carré, leaves an everlasting impression of beauty.
