ZIGGY CHEN PRESENTS SPRING-SUMMER ’25 COLLECTION

By Chloe Edstein

The Spring-Summer ’25 collection is inspired by a Chinese idiom that originally refers to intertwining roots, symbolizing the unseen, foundational part of a plant that provides nourishment and stability.

In this collection, the designer creatively transforms this concept by merging twisted branches and intricate patterns into a theme called ‘Gnarticate.’ These branches are no longer hidden underground but are visible and disruptive, growing and spreading chaotically.

‘Gnarticate’ explores the balance between beauty and decay, chaos and order, elegance and comfort. The colors and materials draw inspiration from traditional architecture and the interplay of light and shadows within garden vegetation.

The palette features colors faded by time, including various shades of purple, alongside greens and greys, reminiscent of garden walls embraced by strong, intricate branches.

The silhouettes in the collection are soft, emphasizing comfort and naturalness. The textures and patterns of the fabrics reflect both structured and aggressive shapes, embodying a sense of soft pleasantness. Each garment evokes a natural, flowing experience, with fabrics that caress the body and move fluidly with every movement.
